Except the midsummer which has high temperature in Changsha, spring, autumn and winter are the best time to visit Changsha.
Spring in Changsha begins in the midmonth of February. The weather changes a lot in this season, tourists should prepare more clothes to avoid catching cold. The average temperature should be 8.30℃~15.30℃.

Former Residence of Chairman Mao: The hometown of Mao Zedong is called Shanshanchong, a narrow and long valley. There were about 600 families living here in the past time. From the late September, Changsha gets into autumn. The daytime is warm, while the night is cool in Changsha. Changsha has less rainfall and much low cloud cover in this season. The average temperature in autumn may be 20.20℃~28.43℃.

Yuelu Mountain Scenic Zone: On the western shore of the Xiangjiang River in Changsha, the Yuelu Mountain Scenic Zone is composed of five major scenic sub-zones – Lushan Mountain, Tianma Mountian, Peach Blossom Ridge, Shijia Ridge and Orange Island–in addition to two independent tourist attractions: the site where the Xinmin Society was founded, and the earthen top of the city Wall. Lushan Mountain is the core scenic zone, including some famous tourist attractions, such as Yuelu Academy, Lushan Temple, Yunlu Palace and Aiwan Pavilion.
From the late November, Changsha begins its winter. Changsha's winter is not too cold and its average temperature is 4.80℃~12.33℃. Sometime you have the chance to appreciate the snow-covered landscape here.

Mt. Hengshan: Mt Hengshan has a comparative stable temperature in China. Rainy spring, cool summer and warm winter make this area be in a misty environment for more than seven months. To some photographers, Mt. Hengshan in cloudy days may be more attractive for them. From Decembers to February in the next year, visitors can see the snow scenes which can not be seen frequently in southern China.
