By Bicycle

It is easy to find a place to rent a bicycle in Yangshuo. There are many bike-rental spots near the entrance of West Street. Or even the guest house, inn or small hotel which you are staying could offer bike rental service. This is a completely environment-friendly way to explore the countryside.

On Foot

“On foot” refers to hiking or trekking here. This way is the most tough one, and not suitable for every tourists, but a good way to be closer to local life.

This way is only suitable for those tourists who would like to see the countryside of Yangshuo, but they are not suitable to take biking or hiking tour for some reason. The disadvantage of this way is that it might not bring you closer to the countryside as some roads might not wide enough for car driving.

Route A: Yangshuo county-Big Banyan Tree-Moon Hill-Moon Hill Village-Jianshan Temple-Yancun Village-Aishan Village-Tianjiahe Village-Yangshuo
Distance: about 20km (1.5-2 hours by biking)
Road condition: highway and country path
Intensity: Leisure, suitable for ordinary tourists
Route feature: classic, good natural scenery

Route B: Yangshuo County-Fuli-Chelang Hill-Xingping-Stone Village-Putao-Yangshuo
Distance: about 60km (2 days by biking)
Road condition: highway and country path, the road from Xingping to Stone Village is tough
Intensity: New route, difficult
Route feature: beautiful landscape

Route C: Yangshuo Country-Gongnong Bridge-Jima Village-Xiatang Village-Jiuxian-Xiagui Bridge-Yulong Bridge-Fuli Bridge-Baisha town-Yangshuo
Distance: around 30km (2.5-3 hours by biking)
Road condition: more country path and highway
Intensity: classic, medium level of difficulty, some bumpy road
Route feature: nice countryside view, ancient bridge and village
