Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street

Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street is located in Huangjueping, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. It is a popular photography spot for young people, lovers of fine arts and artists. Covering an area about 50,000 square meters, Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street is 1,250 meters long, which starts from Huangjueping Railway Hospital and ends at 501 Art Base.
 

As the largest graffiti art cluster in China and the world, more than 800 workers, students and artists participated in the design of the graffiti project, costing 12,500 kilograms of various coating, 30,000 paintbrushes and oil brushes. After 150 days of work, they scrawled 37 buildings, renovated and widened roads, demolished and rebuilt the buildings. The graffiti art project changed the appearance of Huangjueping.


 

Design and Creation of Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street

The idea of designing Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street is put forward by Luo Zhongli, the dean of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. He is also a famous painter and artist in China. Based on the advantage of students and teachers of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Luo Zhongli thought the designing of Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street can make the old Huangjueping Street more vital and attractive.
 

And Jiulongpo Government and Sichuan Fine Arts Institute soon came to an agreement of designing the Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street. And this project was accomplished in 2007 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Chongqing's direct administration. In June, 2017, China Graffiti Art Festival was held at the Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street.
