Hui'an Dazuocun Village (惠安大岞村) is a small fishing village in Chongwu Town, Hui'an County, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. It is located at the easternmost tip of the Chongwu Peninsula, surrounded by the sea on three sides, and 2 kilometers away from the Chongwu Ancient City Scenic Area on the west. The village covers an area of 3.9 square kilometers, with a coastline of 3 kilometers, and is the central fishing port of Chongwu.
In recent years, it has won the titles of "China's Beautiful Leisure Village" and "Fujian's Most Beautiful Leisure Village". The charm of Dazuocun Village lies not only in the beautiful Half Moon Bay Beach, which presents a splendid seaside scenery, but also in the unique and beautiful "Hui'an Women", who attract a large number of tourists to Dazuocun Village for sightseeing and photography every year.
Hui'an women are a special ethnic group in the Huidong Peninsula of Hui'an County, Fujian Province. They are mainly distributed in the eastern part of Hui'an, such as Chongwu, Shanxia, Jingfeng, and Xiaozuo, and are authentic Han people. They are famous for their peculiar costumes, and more for their virtues of "hardworking, frugal, virtuous, kind, and diligent".
The Folk Customs Garden is built on the hillside facing the sea, with restaurants, tea houses, museums, sightseeing plank roads, and everything else in the park. The tea house in the park allows visitors to personally change into the daily clothes of Hui'an women, and the price is not expensive, spending 20 yuan can become a Hui'an woman. In addition, the Hui'an Women Folk Customs Museum, built in the style of Hui'an women's homes, is not large but cozy enough to shelter from the wind and rain. Along the plank road by the sea, you can reach the sea view observation deck, where you can enjoy the sea view.
Dazuocun Eight Sceneries refer to the eight natural landscapes of Dazuocun Village in Chongwu Town, Hui'an County. They are “Longhou Houyan”（龙喉吼烟）, “Junma Dongtian”（军马洞天）, “Shishi Wanzhao”（狮石晚照）, “Yuweng Sawang”（渔翁撒网）, “Baihe Lingyuan”（白鹤临渊）, “Guyu Dongqing”（孤屿冬青）, “Yuqing Chuanyin”（玉磬传音）, and “Dishui Tanqin”（滴水弹琴）. These scenic spots are all formed by sea erosion, forming strange rocks with unique shapes and artistic conception. Dazuocun Eight Sceneries are beautiful and a good choice for you to visit, among which " Longhou Houyan”（龙喉吼烟）" is known as "Hui'an's First Scenery".
Bojiwang Bay Beach is located between the two mountains of Dazuocun. The beach here is flat as a mat, without any slope, so it is also considered to be the safest beach among the more than ten beaches in Chongwu. Between spring and summer, except for a few typhoon days, this sea area is like a lake on land, showing a special tranquility. You can walk with your lover or take your children on the beach in the fine waves, chase crabs on the beach, or boat on the calm sea, which are all very beautiful enjoyment.
This site is located on the east slope of Dazuocun Mountain and belongs to the "Shell Mound Site". In the 1,200 square meters area between the rocky soil slopes, various pottery shards and weathered clam shells are scattered. The cultural accumulation layer is about 1 meter thick. The site was discovered in 1957 and has been surveyed several times since then. It is an important part of the archaeological survey of the Jinjiang River Basin in Quanzhou in 2005.
Dazuocun Guanyin Temple is located on the southeast hillside of Guanyin Mountain. The Guanyin Temple is built on the hillside, with a vast ocean in front of it. Behind it is a forest, with strange rocks standing, and the sea breeze mixed with the fragrance of wild grass, accompanied by the sound of waves, making people feel relaxed and happy. It is a veritable ecological garden. When you come here, you naturally have to worship and pray for your family's happiness and well-being.
Along the path next to the Guanyin Temple, you can go down to the famous Dazuocun Tianhou Palace. Every lunar March 23 is the annual birthday temple fair of Mazu, or Qingming, the first or fifteenth day of the lunar month, the Dazuocun Tianhou Palace is full of incense, and the Hui'an women in the village gather here to pray sincerely to Mazu.
How to get there: Take the bus of Hui'an-Chongwu at Hui'an Station, and arrive at Chongwu Station to take a motorbike to Dazuocun Village.
Tip: When you go to Dazuocun Village, it is best to have a tour guide, otherwise it may be difficult to find the way.
