Malinghe Valley Scenic Area, located in Xingyi City, Guizhou Province, is a national geopark in China and also listed as a national scenic spot, and regarded as one of the best places to visit in Guizhou, and interesting things to do are hiking and rafting.
Malinghe Valley is a rift valley, 74.8 km long, formed by mountain movement and water erosion, where you could see Maling River flows through. Maling River is named after Maling Village, which is on the riverside of its midstream. Maling River has a length of 100 km, and a fall of around 1, 000 meters which gives it a strong cutting ability. Looking down from the high above, it looks like a crack, though it has a width of 50-150 meters and a depth of 120-280 meters.
Malinghe Valley is divided into 4 sections.
The first section is from Qingshui River Bridge to Maling Ancient Bridge, with a length of 26 kilometers long, with a fall of 108 meters. It is the upstream, with the best water quality. This section is ideal for rafting, because of many bays and shoals, and beautiful sites. The whole journey takes 2-3 hours, and you would see sites like Colorful Corridor, and Pearl Valley.
The second section is from Maling Ancient Bridge to Baili Gallery scenic area, about 14 kilometers long. The water flows smoothly, suitable for senior citizens and children having a leisure rafting, which needs over 1 hours, and you could enjoy the beauty of sites, such as Horse Shoal, and Tiger Shore.
The third section starts from Tianxing Gallery scenic area and ends at Zhaojiadu Bridge, with a total length of about 22 kilometers. The scenery on both sides of the gorge is excellent, and it is thrilling and exciting for rafting.
The fourth section is from Zhaojiadu Bridge to Wanfeng Lake, with the largest river drop, the most dangerous shoals, making it the most challenging and the most dangerous rafting. It is not open to ordinary tourists, but only to professional rafters.
Malinghe Valley Scenic Area covers an area of 450 square kilometers, famous for numerous peaks, islands, waterfalls, and valleys. Inside this scenic area there are also many historic and cultural sites, and you could experience local ethnic custom. Malinghe Valley Scenic Area in Xingyi has a mild climate, with an average annual temperature between 15℃～18℃, and temperature difference between day and night is small.
In the valley, there are splendid waterfalls pouring down, green bamboos, karst caves, old trees and famous trees, which makes the valley vigorous and beautiful. It is a great place for sightseeing, adventure, leisure and avoiding summer heat.
Malinghe Valley is a paradise for rafting and canoeing. The whole journey of Maling River rafting is more than 50 kilometers, and has over 80 dangerous shoals, over 70 deep pools and over 60 bays. The rough riverbed, and roaming give many advantages for thrilling rafting. It has held rafting competition in the past and has been a famous base of rafting training.
Sightseeing elevator. Malinghe Valley has 2 sightseeing elevators, with a height of 73.12 meters, and each elevator carries 13 passengers at a time, with a running speed of 1.5 meters per second. By taking the elevator, you get to the valley bottom from the top in less than 1 minute, and have a dynamic view of Malinghe Valley from top to bottom.

Entrance ticket: 60 yuan.
Tour time: 3 hours.
Sightseeing elevator: 40 yuan for a round trip.
From Xingyi downtown to Malinghe Valley, the distance is 10 km, and it needs 20 min of driving.

Tourists could take No. 3, No. 4, No. 8 public bus, or LY2 tourist bus to Malinghe Valley. For taking No. 4 public bus, tourists could go to Xingyi West Bus Station, because it has stop in this bus station, and Malinghe Valley is in one of its terminal stop. Its service time: 06:30-20:30. LY2 tourist bus shuttles between Wanlinfeng Scenic Area and Malinghe Valley Scenic Area, and it has stops in International Convention Center and Wanlinfeng Airport. Its service time is from 06:30 to 19:00.
