Q 1: Can I reschedule my high-speed train ticket?
Yes, over 48 hours before the departure of your original ticket, you can choose any train with a spare ticket.
After the departure of the original train, you can change to other trains that will departure in the day. This regulation is only available for high-speed train tickets.
Attentions:
1. Any tickets can only be rescheduled or changed for once.
2. Some joint tickets and return tickets cannot be rescheduled.
3. Only the date, train number and seats can be changed. You cannot change the departure station, destination or passenger identity information.
Q 2: How to reschedule a train ticket?
If you haven’t got a paper ticket and it’s not later than 30 minutes before driving, you can handle on www.12306.cn.
If it a paper ticket has been exchanged or within 30 mins before departure, it can only be handled at the designated ticket window at the station.
Q 4: How about the reschedule service charge?
There is no service charge for high-speed train rescheduling.
Q 5: How to pay for/ return the price difference?
If the original ticket is paid by cash at a railway station, the price difference will be charged or returned by cash, too.
If the original one is bought from an agency, then you'd better ask the agency to handle the change for you, as the price difference will probably be returned to or charged through their bankcard, either it is an e-ticket or a paper one.
Q 5: Can a changed ticket be refunded?
Generally, the answer is yes. After changing the ticket, if the passenger does not want to travel, he/she could refund the ticket according to regulations (see below). If the new ticket is changed after departure of the train, it will not allow to be refunded.
Q: How to refund a high-speed train ticket?
If you haven’t got a paper ticket and it’s not later than 30 minutes before driving, you can handle on www.12306.cn. The refunded fare will be returned to your online payment tool within the prescribed time.
If it a paper ticket has been exchanged or within 30 mins before departure, it can only be handled at the designated ticket window at the station.
No matter you reserve train tickets online or at the train station, you can have your train ticket refunded at the train station ticket window, in any China cities.
Q: How about the refund service fee?
1. 15 days (excluding) before the scheduled departure time, no refund service fee will be charged.
2. Within 48 hours to 15 days before driving, 5% of the original fare will be charged.
3. Within 24 hours to 48 hours before driving, 10% of the original fare will be charged.
4. Within 24 hours before driving, 20% of the original fare will be charged.
Other important tips:
1. The minimum refund fee is 2 CNY for each ticket.
2. During Spring Festival Travel Rush, the cancelation fee is as high as 20% of the original fare whenever you refund ticket.
3. If the departure time is changed from 15 days to 48 hours ahead to over 15 days ahead and then ask for a refund again, 5% of the original fare will be charged as cancellation fee even if it is over 15 days before departure.
4. For group passengers, the refund should be deal 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
5. Refund the ticket with “Xing” (meanings luggage) on it, you should firstly go through the luggage transportation change procedures.
6. If a passenger could not continue to travel on the train because of injury or disease, he/she could refund the ticket or the fare difference after the confirmation of the station and the train.
The Ticket refund policy of Guangzhou to Hong Kong train
It is an exception. A passenger should have the ticket refunded 2 hours before the departure time at the starting station, or 6 hours before the departure time in another city.
The cancelation fee is 50% of the original fare if the ticket refunded between 2 hours and 2 days before departure.
The cancelation fee is 30% of the original fare if the ticket refunded between 3 and 14 days before departure.
Passenger can get a ticket fully refunded 15 days before departure. But HK $15 will be charged as commission fee.
