What is Islamic Association of China? 

The Islamic Association of China (simplified Chinese: 中国伊斯兰教协会Wade–Giles: Chung-kuo I-szŭ-lan-chiao Hsieh-hui) is China's ethnic Muslim national religious organization for Muslims of all ethnic groups. Its governing body is the national congress, and its headquarters is in Beijing.
 

In July, 1952, it was launched by Muslim famous people in Beijing and was founded on May 11, 1953. This is China's first unprecedented unified national islamic organization in the Chinese history. Its establishment marks the realization of the great unity of all ethnic groups of China Muslims, setting up the bridge of communication between the party, the government and all ethnic groups of Muslims.
 

Objectives

Assist the government to publicise and implement China's freedom of religious belief; on behalf of the national ethnic Muslim's legitimate rights and interests; play as a bridge between Muslim and China; hold high the banner of patriotism; carry forward the Islamic basic spirit and fine tradition; be independent and deal with affairs by itself; hold the Islamic career.


 

Business and Duties

1. In the defined limits of the constitution, laws, regulations and policies, carry out Islamic teaching activities; 
2. Give an answer related with corresponding social development to the religious problems which Muslim people care about according to the spirit of the koran.
3. Held Islamic education and cultivate Islamic teaching talents, 
4. Explore and clear up Islamic excellent historical and cultural heritages; carry out the Islamic academic culture research; compile and publish koran books and periodicals. 
5. Establish and improve the Islam internal management rules and regulations; 
6. Guide educational administration work and the exchange experience of Islamic Associations from various regions;
7. Promote the mosques and Islamic Associations to run the career which benefits the country and the people, serve the society public welfare;
8. Responsible for organizing the national ethnic Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca; 
9. Develop friendly exchanges in various countries' Muslims and Islamic organizations and promote their exchanges and cooperation.
