Shanghai Yuyuan Market, also called Yuyuan Bazaar, is a bazaar of stores that combines the Old Street (Chenghuangmiao). The place gets some 200,000 visitors daily, people just come here to buy, sell and eat - it is all entertaining enough.

The stores sell a mish-mash of items including chopsticks, Chinese medicine, walking sticks, fans, silk umbrellas, bamboo and rattan furniture, goldfish, pottery, plus much more. Part of the market has also been transformed into an indoor mall. Do not forget to bargain for a good price!
Food is also a great temptation in Yuyuan Market with local delicacies such as Xiao Long Bao, pigeon egg dumplings and spicy cold noodles from the street stalls or numerous restaurants. Local Shanghai Dim Sum in Lv Bo Lang Restaurant, vegetarien steamed stuffed bun in Songyue Restaurant, pigeon egg dumplings in Gui Hua Ting, eight-treasure rice pudding in Songyun Restaurant are must try snacks in this place.

How to get there
Take Metro Line 8 and get off at Dashijie stop. Then you can walk for a few minutes to get to the street. Please try not go there in weekends, just to avoid crowds.
