Train from Chongqing to Lhasa
There is only one train from Chongqing to Lhasa: T222. It departs from Chongqing North Railway Station at 20:23 in the first day and arrives at 15:40 in the third day at Lhasa Railway Station. The running hour is about 43 hours and 17 minutes.

Train from Lhasa to Chongqing
There is only one train travelling from Lhasa to Chongqing. The train number is T224. It departs at 10:45 in the first day at Lhasa Railway Station and arrive at 10:36 in the third day at Chongqing North Railway Station. It runs about 46 hours and 33 minutes for the whole journey.

1. Booking an original train is easier than booking a passing-by train. You can book a train ticket 20 days in advance at most. Trains to and from Lhasa is usually hard to buy, it is recommended to buy the train ticket as early as you can. Also, there are tow kinds of sleeper seats on China's trains which are hard sleeper seat and soft sleeper seat. Hard sleeper seats are divided into upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper (lower hard sleeper is the best); while soft sleeper seats are divided into upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper (lower soft sleeper is better). It is recommended to buy a ticket of soft sleeper for you train travel, which would be more comfortable.
3. In China, taking a train is a comparatively cheaper way to cut down the travel cost. While correspondingly, the comfortable level is lower than travelling by air.
