We will be in Nanjing for 1 week. Are there 2 or 3 different side trips you would recommend that we can do from Nanjing?

Nanjing is the capital city of Jiangsu Province. Nanjing used to be capital of six dynasties. In Nanjing, you can visit the Confucian temple, Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Jiming Temple and Qinhuai River. Today, Nanjing is a major economic center and educational hub, with numerous universities and research institutions. Nanjing salted duck, dumplings and various street foods are worth trying in Nanjing.

Spring(April to June) and autumn(September to November) offer pleasant weather for sightseeing.

 

How long to stay in Nanjing

To visit Nanjing, 2-4 days are enough. If your time is limited, you can choose some classic attractions to visit. And if you have enough time, you can visit more typical places in Nanjing. And you can have time to visit Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai if you want to visit more cities in China.
