Luqu county west is plateau mountain, wide grass land become excellent natural pasture; the east part is in the river basin. In the Luqu County, there are more than 10 nationalities live here and predominant nationality is Tibetan. It is a prairie town of the animal husbandry and mainly engaged in agriculture, forestry and rich in national characteristics.

► Gahai Lake
Gahai Lake is situated in the south of
Lanzhou with a distance of 260 km; it is the largest fresh water lake in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and also a significance wetland in the east of Tibetan-Qinghai Plateau.
Gahai Lake is in the Gaihai Grassland surrounded by the mountains with an altitude of 3400 in the Luqu County. The sea view is beautiful here with a harmony environment. Around Gaihai Lake is excellent natural pasture, rivers and vegetation are in good condition. There is also a good place to see birds; every the late spring and early summer, the white swan, grey goose of hundred species of birds flew in from the south.
Gahai Lake has rich water resources with water coming from three streams from the nearby mountains as well as the underground spring. It is a perfect habitat for over 100 migrant birds like swans, black-neck cranes…The area around Gahai Lake is very fertile with lush grassland, a ideal place for grazing yak herds. In summer, Gahai Lake is a field of wildflowers, a paradise for holiday maker. Gahai Lake was listed by the province in 1982 as migratory birds of wetland type reserve, and in 1999 was listed as national nature reserve by the state council.
► Langmu Monastery
Langmu is not only a name for a monastery, but also a name for a township where Buddhist and Islamic believers live a leisurely life style. And it is in Luqu county of Gannan Tibetan autonomous region. Although Langmu monastery is becoming more and more famous, but it is still a quiet town with unique style.
A stream names “Bailong River” flows through the town which less than 2 meters wide but separates the town into two parts. In the north of stream is Langmu monastery, south bank belongs to Sichuan Ruoergai County. A stream mix with Tibetan and Hui two nationalities of peaceful coexistence, lama temple and mosque exits in different site along a stream.
Langmu Monastery’s whole name is “Dacang Lamu Monastery”. Languu Monastery is divided into two parts; one is Dacang Lamu Monastery in Sichuan province, also known as Gerdeng temple (Kerti Gompa), the other one is Dacang Lamu Monastery in Gansu province, also called the Serti Gompa. Kerti Gompa is the biggest and most impressive Gelu Monastery in whole Aba area and belongs to Sichuan province since it is located on Sichuan’s side of the river.
► Zecha Stone Forest
Zecha Stone Forest is one of the three famous scenic spots in Luqu County and even in Gannan autonomous prefecture of Gansu province. In 1998, Zecha Stone Forest together with Gahai Lake was listed as national nature reserve. It is located in the Zecha village, Larenguan Township, 52 kilometers south of Luqu County. Scenic area is 22 km, the area covers more than 20000 hectares, is our country one of the rare comprehensive tourist area consists of forests, grasslands, and stone forest.
