Xingping is a town near Yangshuo of Guilin, in northern Guangxi Province, China. It is 27 kilometers upstream from Yangshuo on the Li River.
Like Yangshuo, Xingping is surrounded by great examples of Karst scenery, with one particularly prominent peak overlooking the village from the southern end of the shoreline against the Yi River.
How to Get to Yangshuo Xingping Scenic Area from Guilin? Tourists can take train, bus, trekking and bamboo raft to get to Xingping.
How to Get to Yangshuo Xingping Scenic Area from Guilin by train? There are 26 bullet trains depart from Guilin to Yangshuo. It is only 24 minutes to get to Yangshuo. After leaving the station, the left hand side is the special line bus ticket sales office, where you can buy tickets to Yangshuo and Xingping. The bus departs every few minutes.
There are only a few direct buses leaving for Xingping Scenic Area every day. The buses usually depart from the square of Guilin Train Station. For the number of direct buses is so limited, it is not suggested to go by this way. Guilin Dingfu Distribution Center also has many buses to Yangshuo, located at No. 75 Cuizhu Road, Xiangshan District, Guilin City. It can provide direct tourist routes to popular scenic spots such as Yangshuo Shili Gallery, Longji Terraces and Lipu Yinziyan.
Alternatively, it is recommended that one can hop on a bus in the square of Guilin Train Station to get to Yangshuo first. It takes about 2 hours from Guilin. Then you may take the bus from Yangshuo to Xingping in Yangshuo Bus Station. It takes about 45 minutes and charges 7 yuan RMB. From 6 am to 7:30 pm every 15 minutes there is one bus starting from Yangshuo to Xingping.
In addition, you can take a 6 hours hiking tour from Yangdi Pier to reach Xingping. There is no direct bus from Guilin downtown to Yangdi Dock. You can catch a bus which leave for Yangshuo in the square of Guilin Train Station and ask the driver or the ticket seller on the bus to drop you off at Yangdi Lu Kou (Yangdi Crossing), where you can transfer to a bus to reach Yangdi Dock.
It may take about 2 hours from Guilin Train Station to Yangdi Dock. After you reach the dock, you can start your hiking. Yangdi-Xingping trekking tour is quite popular among travelers, because it is good way to enjoy the essential scenery of Li River.
If you prefer a more scenic route, you can also go there by bamboo raft. But to take the bamboo raft, you need to get to Yangdi Dock first to get on aboard. There is no direct bus from Guilin downtown to Yangdi Dock. You can catch a bus which leave for Yangshuo in the square of Guilin Train Station and ask the driver or the ticket seller on the bus to drop you off at Yangdi Lu Kou (Yangdi Crossing), where you can transfer to a bus to reach Yangdi Dock. It should take more than 2 hours on the bamboo raft from Yangdi Dock to Xingping. Then you can wonder around Xingping Ancient Town there.
