Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival

During the winter season, the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival will be held with various snow related activates. The festival usually runs on December 20 every year. On January 5, it's formally open to the public and lasts for about one month.

The "Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival" is one of the four largest ice and snow festivals in the world, along with Japan's Sapporo Snow Festival, Canada's Quebec City Winter Carnival, and Norway's Ski Festival.

Every year, the Harbin Ice and Snow Festival holds a large-scale winter swimming competition. Visitors can not only enjoy the beauty of ice lights and snow sculptures, but also enjoy the ice and snow art evenings and participate in a variety of ice and snow entertainment projects.

Harbin Ice Rolling Festival

The Ice Rolling Festival holds at the 15th of the first month of lunar year, which is a local folk custom that has been around for a long time. On the Lantern Festival in the evening, the locals lit the candles and put them on the river to form various figures. Men and women, old and young, wallow in the frozen river. It is said that this can roll away the troubles, disaster and bring good luck and happy.
