Hohhot Baita International Airport

Hohhot Baita International Airport is located in Hohhot, the provincial capital of Inner Mongolia, China. Baita in the name of the Airport meanings "White Tower", as the Huayan Temple is here. Hohhot Baita International Airport is 14.3 km east of Hohhot. On October 1, 1958, the airport was completed the construction and put into service. On December 1, 1991, the State Council approved Baita International Airport a port airport. On March 31, 1992, it officially opened to the outside world. Baita Airport experienced three large-scale expansions in 1986, 1996 and 2005. In June 2007, the recent expansion was completed, and flight zone grade upgraded to 4E level, to meet the current large aircraft - A380 and other aircrafts requirements. It is the largest alternate airport for main domestic airports and Beijing Capital International Airport.
