How to Get to Ordos from Hohhot

Ordos city situated in the southwest of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and is located in the Ordos plateau hinterland. There is two ways to get Ordos from Hohhot in general, by train and by bus.

By Train

There are 6 pairs of trains from Hohhot to Ordos or vice versa. The earliest one leaves at 06:43 and latest one at 22:30. It takes around 3 hours to 3 and a half hour from Hohhot to Ordos by train. The trains depart from Hohhot Station or Hohhot East Station and arrive at Dongsheng West Station.

By Bus(highly-recommended)

From Hohhot to Ordos is 165 Km, taking bus from Hohhot to Ordos needs around 3 hours. Taking bus is more convenient and faster than taking train, it is easy to buy bus tickets. The bus station is near the train station, the bus departs in an interval of 10 to 30 minutes, and most of the buses arrive at the Ordos Bus Station in Dongsheng District.

There is no flight between direct flight between Hohhot and Ordos.
