Lhasa Railway Station is the largest station and also one of the landmark projects of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. It is located at the south bank of the Lhasa River in Liuwu Village, Doilungdeqen County of
Lhasa, with an altitude above 3600m. Lhasa Railway Station is the terminal station of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and also the largest station for transport of both passengers and goods.

Internal Facility
There is a ticket hall at the west part of the first floor. After the station opened, the train, flights, and long-distance bus tickets all sell in the Ticket Hall. There are over 10 widows in the Ticket Hall. The escalator leads passengers to the second floor of the station. At the northeast part, there is a large market. And according to the original design, there will also set fast food restaurants, coffee house and small shops. At the south part of the second floor, there is a general waiting room. And there are also mother-and-child room, waiting room for serviceman, small soft seat waiting room and treatment room. The general waiting room covers an area of 1760 square meters, while the soft seat waiting room covers 800 square meters and VIP waiting area is less than 700 square meters. The design of the station embodies humanization concept. If passenger suddenly get plateau sickness and other diseases, the doctors in the treatment room will offer timely treatment.
There are seven waiting platforms with no-column canopies, 10 station tracks including 2 cargo lines. The Station has 3 stories, the underground story, and the two overground stories. Logistics services are set at the west and east side of the main platform, which provide mail processing, shipping, water and electricity supply services. Heating Facilities take the local abundant solar energy are used as raw materials, reducing the damage to the environment.
Construction Process
October 15, 2005:celebration meeting for the completion of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was held in Lhasa station.
February, 2006: Lhasa station test track.
June 20, 2006: Lhasa station was completed.
July 1, 2006: Lhasa station is enabled
October 1, 2006: T164 / T165 Shanghai to Lhasa train began to run.
October 2, 2006: T264 / T265 Guangzhou to Lhasa train began to run.
October 4, 2006: T163 / T166 Lhasa to Shanghai train began to run.
October 5, 2006: T263 / T266 Lhasa to Guangzhou train began to run.
