Travel from Lhasa to Nyingchi

Nyingchi is warm and humid just like the weather of the lower reaches of Yangtze River. The third largest forest of China is located here. It is about 500 km from Lhasa to Nyingchi.

Nyingchi is one of the very few pure lands seldom involved for mankind. It is always the holy land for scientific investigation and exploration, which also caused inconvenience of traffic from Lhasa to Nyingchi. The bus used to be the only vehicle from Lhasa to Nyingchi, and it is even need to walking at some section without roads.

There are three ways to go to Nyingchi from Lhasa now:

Regular Bus

The first regular bus from Lhasa to Nyingchi departs at 8:00 am every morning. The highway mileage from Lhasa to Nyingchi Bayi Town is 633 km, the fare is 155 yuan, via Mozhugongka,Gongbujiangda. In addition, the road sections connect with Lhasa to Nyingchi regular buses are: Nyingchi - Rawu, the mileage of 345 km, passing through Tongmai, Bomi; Tsedang - Nyingchi, the mileage of 475 km, passing through the Jiacha, Millin. If you go from Nyingchi to Basum Lake or other major attractions, you can rent jeep at Bayi Town Post Office. It can take six people, Charing 700 Yuan for two days.
