Lijiang Sanyi International Airport

Lijiang Sanyi Internaitional Airport, located in Lijiang of Yunnan Province, covers an area of 1 200 000 square meters. The level of the airfeild is 4D. The runway here is 3000 m long which can land and take off for Boeing 737-800.

The airport apron covers an area of 76,000 square meters with 19 aircraft stands. The area of terminal is 33,000 square meters. In 2005, the passenger throughput reached 2,210,000, ranked 41 in the 175 airports in China. The airport is 25 km away from Lijiang urban area.

Construction and Development of the Airport
Lijiang Airport was constructed from 1992, and was finished the construction in 1995. It was officially put into operation in July, 1995.

Lijiang Airport used to be reconstructed and expended in 1998, but it still can not meet the needs of development. At the end of 2007, the new extension project of Lijiang Airport began. The level of aircraft upgrade from 4C to 4D. And the terminal building was expending to 33,000 square meters from 5700 square meters, with 24 Check-in Desks, 7 security check channels, 2 first-class lounge. In additon there are aslo food and beverage, retail, books and periodicals barracks areas. The No.4 and No.5 station sites covers an area over 76000 square meters with 7 boarding lounge bridges. The aircraft stands increased to 19 from 6, and the runway extends to 3000 m from 2500 m.

The airport covers an area of 1 200 000 square meters with an altitude of 2240 m. The runway is 3000m long, 45 m wide.

The terminal building consists of two parts: Domestic terminal and International terminal. The domestic terminal covers an area of 2286 square meters, while the international covers 5700 square meters. The area of the parking apron is 30,000 square meter which can parking 6 Boeing 737, Airbus A319 and other civil aircraft.

Transportation Tips
Lijiang Sanyi International Airport is located 28 kilometers south of Lijiang downtown. There is highway straight to the airport, and you can also take taxi.

There are shuttle bus between the airport and the Lijiang County. The terminal is at the front of the Xincheng Yunnan Ailines’s Ticket Office. The bus passing one of the entrance of the Lijiang Ancient Town. It driving for 40 min with price of 15 CNY. You can take taxi to the center of the ancient town.

You can also take No. 1 Local Bus at the Xindajie Street, which directly to the airport.
