In the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939), the Liujiang County Railway was opened for operation.
In the 30th year of the Republic of China (1941), Liuzhou County built the first railway station, which was called Liujiang South Station.
On August 1, 1950, Liujiang South Station was renamed "Liuzhou Station".
In 1981, Liuzhou Station was upgraded to a first-class passenger station.
On November 10, 1986, the fourth expansion project of Liuzhou Station officially started.
On March 1, 2017, Liuzhou Station West House was put into use; on March 13 of the same year, the old station house was stopped and demolished; on September 12, Liuzhou Station opened the West Station House elevated waiting room; on December 6, Liuzhou East Station House elevated waiting hall and No. 2, 3 platform are put into use.
In January 2019, the East Station House of Liuzhou Station was put into use, and the two houses of the East and West were fully connected.
►West Station House
As of February 2017, the West Station House of Liuzhou Station is divided into underground passages for passengers to exit the station, the waiting hall, the ticket office, the service room and the equipment room, and the platform layer for office.
The waiting room is located on the north side of the station building, and the ticket office is located on the south side of the station. There are two waiting areas. There are two ticket gates in the first waiting area and three ticket gates in the second waiting area.
►East Station House
As of October 2018, the East Station House of Liuzhou Station is mainly divided into three floors, including the exit layer, platform layer and elevated waiting layer.
As of December 2018, with the opening of the waiting room of Liuzhou East Station House, the reconstructed platforms 2, 3, 4 and 5 and ticket gates were also officially opened.
►Station Square
As of September 2017, Liuzhou station has set up one square in front of each station house on the east and west sides, which is divided into ground upper layer and underground layer.
The east side station square is mainly for bus stations and plazas, and the underground is commercial areas and social parking lots. The ground floor of the West Square is a leisure plaza, a long-distance passenger station parking lot, etc., and a social parking lot is set up in the underground floor.
As of January 2016, Liuzhou Station has set up 11 platform counters and 11 stock lanes, and reserved the capacity of an elevated yard with 4 stations and 4 stock lanes in the long-term.
As of December 2018, the route through Liuzhou Station was the Xianggui Railway, the Qiangui Railway, the Jiaoliu Railway, the Liunan Intercity Railway, and the Hengliu Railway. At the same time, No. 2-5 station mainly receive and dispatch trains from Nanning, Baise and Guigang. The original 9-11 platform mainly receives and dispatches trains to the north.

As of February 2017, there are 35 automatic ticket vending machines in the ticketing hall of the West Railway Station of Liuzhou Station, including 19 automatic ticket sales and collection machines and 16 automatic ticket collection machines.

From February 2019, Liuzhou station set up leisure dining area, supermarket, vending machine and other convenient facilities in the waiting hall.

♦ Mother-and-child room
From February 2019, liuzhou station is equipped with sofas, baby beds, special nursing rooms, electric kettles, water dispensers, sterilizing bowls and children's toys in the waiting room to meet the needs of passengers.

Since February 2019, there are two drinking water points in Liuzhou Station. Each drinking point is marked with 4 faucets, which can be connected to hot water at the same time.
According to the official website of Liuzhou Bus in February 2019, 18 bus lines were set up at the bus terminal of Liuzhou Station. Passengers can take bus No. 14, 33, 42, 53, 65, 90 to Liuzhou East Square. Passengers can take bus No. 2, 5, 11, 14, 16, 24, etc. to reach Liuzhou West Square.
