The post office of mount Everest is located at the base camp of Qomolangma, Tingri County, Shigats city, covering an area of 24 square meters, with an altitude of 5,200 meters and a straight distance of about 19 kilometers from the summit of mount Everest.
The post office was first established in May 2001 and is the world's highest postal service network. At that time, the post office was only a tent.
On April 18, 2008, the temporary post office at Everest base camp was established to provide postal service for the Olympic flame.
On June 6, 2017, a beautiful theme post office at the Everest base camp was completed and put into use.
The mount Everest post office provide the below services.
1. Selling all kinds of postcards, postal products, souvenirs, etc. The postcard can be sent to cities across China in about two to three weeks.

3. Free water drinking and rest service for tourists
4. Introduce the natural scenery, historical culture, ecological protection, meteorological information and other knowledge to tourists.
Opening hours: 10:00-18:00 from April 15 to October 15
Price of postcard: 5 RMB/piece; 60 RMB/suit (each postmark is 5 RMB)
