Pingyao Transport

Pingyao is small, however, as it is close to the provincial capital Taiyuan, its railways, highways and other transport are very convenient. Its Tongpu Railway runs through the north and south of Pingyao and its Dayun Highway interlaces cross Pingyao, making the ancient city of Pingyao closely linked with Taiyuan, Linfen, Yuncheng and other places.

External Traffic
►Aviation
Pingyao has no specialized aviation passenger station. If you want to take the aircraft, you need to go to Wusu Airport in Taiyuan. The Wusu Airport has opened 50 routes to domestic cities, conveniently and quickly. You can take the train to Taiyuan from Pingyao city and the daily train station has many train passing Taiyuan. Every day from 6:40 to 18:30, the coach station next to Pingyao Train Station has long-distance buses to Taiyuan in every 20 minutes and the trip fare is about 20 yuan.

►Railway
Tongpu Railway runs north and south in Pingyao which strengthens longitudinal rail link of Jinzhong Area and bring Pingyao tightly into the railway transportation network in Shanxi Province. Pingyao Railway Station is located in Zhongdu Road and has very convenient traffic from the city. Taking a train in Pingyao Railway Station, northwards you can reach Taiyuan, Shijiazhuang, southwards you can reach Linfen and Yuncheng. In addition, due to the close distance between Pingyao and Taiyuan, regarding Taiyuan as a transportation hub, you can reach each big and middle city in China.

►Highway
The highways like Dayun Highway, West Outer Ring Road and South Outer Ring Road make the modern highway traffic of the ancient city of Pingyao quite unobstructed. Pingyao long-distance bus station is located next to the train station. Every day from 6:40 am to 6:30 pm, every 20 minutes there is a train from Pingyao to Taiyuan; from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, every half an hour there is bus sent to Jiexiu.

City Traffic
►Bus
Pingyao city has one bus line. The hours of operation in spring and summer is from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm, in autumn and winter is from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. The bus line surrounds the whole Pingyao Ancient City connecting various attractions of the county, which is very helpful and convenient for travel.

►Taxi
Pingyao city has more than 100 taxis which are in a variety of models, including Charade, Santana, etc. The price differs from the models of cars, mileages and travel time.

►Human Tricycle
Pingyao has a large number of human tricycles. While visiting this ancient city, taking the unified antique decorated human tricycles to overlook the scenery along the way, you will feel very nice. The fare of human tricycle ranges from 2-5 yuan per person and the basic mileage is two kilometers.

►Electromobile
Inside Pingyao city, there are more than 40 electromobiles which are safe and pollution-free and conform to the city environmental protection requirements. Chartered travel services per car is 120 yuan per day (8 hours).

►Motorcycle
Within the city, there are a certain number of motorcycle available. The starting price is 2 yuan with two kilometers; beyond which you can discuss the fare with the owner.
