Qingdao is costal city located in eastern Shandong Province, Eastern China. It is about 460 kilometers away from Jinan, the capital of Shandong province. Tourists can get to Qingdao from Jinan by high-speed train, bus, or car rental. There is no direct fights between Jinan and Qingdao.
There are 38 pairs of high-speed train traveling between Jinan and Qufu every day from 7:10 am to 8:20 pm. It departs from Jinan Railway Station (19 Chezhen Street, Tianqiao District, Jinan) and arrives at Qingdao Railway Station (2 Tai'an Road at the west end of Shinan District). It takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes for one-way trip. There are second class seat and first class seat on the high-speed train, some have business seats.
And there are nineteen slower and cheaper trains taking 4-5 hours.
If you are travelling from within Shandong Province, going by bus is probably the easiest way, especially now with the new excellent and fast expressways linking Qingdao with other cities in the province.
There are several buses every day from Jinan to Qingdao. They arrive to the bus station just outside the train station (Qingdao Railway Station Tourist Bus Station), but also from the new bus station north of town, which can be reached by local trolleybus in 20 minutes. It takes about 5 hours on the bus.
You can also rent a private car with drivers and tour guide through a travel agency for the transfer. But the price would be much more expensive in this way.
