"Qilian" is the ancient language of the Huns, meaning "Tianshan Mountain", is a natural barrier in northern
Qinghai, and it was a vital thoroughfare of the western regions in the ancient time, where were called "Qinghai north gate" for the southern route of Silk Road pass through on here. Qilian Mountain has resourceful species, beautiful natural scenery, is one of the world's most complete preserved original ecological area by far. In addition, Qilian County is a multi-ethnic settlement.

► Qilian Mountain
Average evaluation of Qilian mountain ranges are in the 4000 meters to 5000 meters above sea level, mountain snow formed long and wide glacier landscape which is magnificent spectacle. Where in over 4000 meters altitude known as the snow line, in general, there are only the ice and snow, everything vanished. However, Qilian mountain snow line, often appear negative biological phenomena. In the shallow layer of Snow Mountain, there are famous snow mountain meadow plant mushroom, precious medicinal materials Saussurea involucrata, and a snow mountain grass grows under the wind erosion of rock.
The four seasons of Qilian Mountains are never very clear, spring is not like spring, and summer is not like summer. The so-called "Qilian snow in June" is portraying of Qilian Mountain’s climate and natural landscape.
► Zhuoer Mountain
Zhuoer Mountain belongs to Danxia landform, is made up of red sandstone and conglomerate. The Tibetan language is called "Zongmu Mayouma" meaning the beautiful ruddy queen. Zhuoer Mountain scenic area project is in Qilian county Babao town, close to the Babao River. Standing on the top of Zhuo'er, is extremely broad vision without any block, across the mountain is the Tibetan scarified mountain Niuxin Mountain. The Qilian Mountains is rolling back, the Babao River is like a white hada around the Qilian County at the foot of the hill.

► Heihe River
Heihe River is located in the Qilian county Babao town, around the county road flowing towards west. Heihe water is very different from Babao River, the water is the green, on both sides of the scenery stand out more cliffs. In addition, at the southern bank of Heihe river plains has the largest Qilian deer field of Asia covering an area of 1800 hectares, an average of 3500 meters above sea level, built in 1958.
