Qinghai Tourism

Qinghai, known as the world's third pole "the roof of the world" (another two are the Antarctic and Arctic), located in the joint zone of Chinese three natural areas (the northeast monsoon region, northwest desert region and southern plateau region), has the most diverse complicated natural geographical features. Qinghai is the source of Chinese three rivers including Yellow River, Yangtze River and Lancang River which have brought up Chinese nation over thousand years; hence, Qinghai is known as the origin of the mother river of Chinese nation. Also, Qinghai has become China's ecological nature reserve with highest cultural value.

Tourism in the urban economic development in the industry, position, and gradually increase the economic role of the tourism industry to boost the urban economy, social employment, driving force, as well as the promotion of the role of culture and the environment becomes increasingly obvious. Tourism is a pillar of China's economic development industries.

Qinghai has distinctive scenery tourist destination. The first one is the Central Plains scenery that mainly refers to the blend of the Han culture and multiple national religious culture in the northeast of the Hehuang valley. The second is the wasteland scenery which mainly refers to the desert scenery in a glance in northwest of Qaidam Basin. The third is plateau scenery which mainly refers to the south Qingnan plateau associated with prairie.

It has the largest saline lake in China - Qinghai Lake; has place for experiencing "China atomic city" - Gold and Silver Grassland; has the largest Tibetan Buddhism temple- Taer Monastery; has the splendid landscape in the upstream of Yellow River - Lijia Gorge; has a natural boundary of China Central Plains, plateau and wasteland - Sun & Moon Mountain; etc...
