Today’s Shanghai tour is to discover Shanghai and experience Shanghai lifestyle: see its old buildings and modern buildings, hang around in one of the busiest business streets, Nanjing Road, and have a Shanghai cruise.
Itinerary : in the morning, go to Tianzifang and Xiantiandi to see Shanghai old buildings-Shikumen and linong, in the noon, go to Nanjing road and enjoy Shanghai food and snacks, have a shopping tour. In the afternoon, go to Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, and Shanghai Tower and see Shanghai modern buildings, and watch Shanghai panorama. In the night, have a night cruise along Huangpu river.
Tianzifang Facts: Tianzifang(田子坊) is located in the Lane No.210, Taikang Road in Shanghai City, and its buildings belongs to Shanghai old buildings, Shikumen, which is a kind of residential buildings in the past 200 years, but now it is refurbished into a business center full of various stores. It is a place to see Shanghai old buildings and hang around creative stores like craft shops.
Tianzifang architechture: Shimenku (Stone Warehouse Gate) is a type of lilong buildings, featured with stone as its door frame and dark wooden as its door leafs, and its name is derived from this special feature. Shikumen buildings are two or three stories with convex balconies, and their main materials are brick and wood. Viewing from outside, they have a feature of closeness. How to get to Tianzifang
Xiantiandi Facts: Xintiandi(新天地) is a business center renovated from Shanghai old buildings which are kept in its old style, thus it is somewhat like Tainzifang. Xintiandi is located in Huangpo south road, Huangpu district, close to city downtown, and convenient transport is available to tourists and visitors.
Xintiandi Shopping, Restaurants & Bars: Xintiandi is a new and popolar shopping district to locals and tourists, since it has great stores, restaurants, bars, and people gather here to have fun and relax theirself, especially at night.
How to get to Xintiandi.
Nanjing Road(南京路) is a pedestrian street and a popular business street, full of restaurants and stores. It is located in Henan middle road, Huangpu district, close to the Bund and Huangpu River. In Nanjing Road, tourists could enjoy Shanghai cuisine, go shopping, have cups of drinks or something else. In here, you may have your lunch.

Shanghai Science & Technology Museum is a modern museum, with a theme of nature, human and technology. It occupies an area of over 68,000 square meters, and has 11 exhibition halls of distinct themes, 4 theaters, 3 galleries, and several temporary halls.
Shanghai Science & Technology Museum Facts: the museum has various exhibitions in three floors and science theater in the underground floor. The first floor has exhibitions of spectrum of life, cradle of designers, light of wisdom, children’s playground, earthcrust exploration and animal world; the second has exhibitions of world of robots, information era, and home on earth; and the third floor has exhibitions of light of exploration, Human beings and health, space navigation, and light of exploration. The underground floor has IMAX 3D theater, IMAX Dome theater, IWERKS 4D theater, and space theater.

Shanghai Science & Technology Museum ticket: 60 yuan for entrance ticket. 40 yuan for IMAX 3D theater, 30 yuan for IMAX Dome theater, 30 yuan for IWERKS 4D theater, and 20 yuan for space theater.
Audio guide: 20 yuan to rent an audio guide in English or Chinese, with a deposit of 200 yuan.
How to go to Shanghai Science & Technology Museum.
Shanghai Tower, located at Lujiuzui, Pudong, Shanghai, is the highest building in China, the second tallest in the world, and it is one of the landmarks in Shanghai, adjacent to Jin Mao Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center. It has a high-tech exhibition hall in the B1 floor an observation deck in the 118th floor, and Shanghai Eye in the 125th and 126th floor.
The observation deck is named “top of Shanghai” observatory, which provides a bird’s eye view for visitors to see the panorama of Shanghai. For the sightseeing, you may buy a ticket in the first floor, then go to the B1 floor to take a lift which takes you to the 118th floor within 55 seconds.

How to Go to Shanghai Tower
Having a Huangpu River cruise is definitely a good way to discover the beauty of Shanghai, especially its night beauty. You could buy a ticket from a travel agency, book a ticket online, or go to the docks to buy one, and pay attention to cruise routes, time, and seat type. The time table in the below could be different in different docks, though they are almost the same.
