Ask a QuestionTianjin Binhai International Airport is the hub airport for Tianjin Airlines, as well as one of the major air cargo centers in the People's Republic of China. It is located in Tianjin Dongli District, 13 kilometers away from the city center of Tianjin, 30 kilometers away from Tianjin Port, and 134 kilometers away from Beijing.
This airport was established in 2004, and privately owned Okay Airways. It's also a focus city for Air China.
Currently Tianjin Airport has two existing runways; one is 3600 meters long and the other 3200 meters long, with flight zone grade 4E level. It can meet all kinds of large aircraft taking off and landing at full load. The terminal of Tianjin Airport has an area of total 116,000 square meters. Construction of a new terminal began in 2005 and was fully operating by 2008. The building set up four groups’ check-in islands, 60 check-in counters, six self-service equipment and 17 security channels. A new expansion project has officially started in 2011 and still under construction. The 248,000 square meters T2 and 390,000 square meters apron has built. When the new project put into use by the middle of 2014, Tianjin Airport can support annual traffic of 30 - 50 million passengers, cargo 1 million tons.
