Tianjin West Railway Station is a high-speed railway station in Tianjin, People's Republic of China. It's served by Jinghu Railway and Jinbao Railway and by the Jinghu High-Speed Railway. Tianjin West Railway Station is used by some high speed bullet D trains and G trains running from Tianjin to Hangzhou, Qingdao and Shanghai.
In 2008, redecoration and expansion works of the railway station started, in accordance with the project of the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway. After the finish of the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, and in anticipation for services of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway, the number of platforms in Tianjin West Railway Station was increased from 13 to 24. These include 9 high-speed platforms with 17 railway lines. The redecoration of the station building involved the creation of a new main station building with a new North-South underground connection square, a larger waiting room, baggage check-in points, and facilitated access. The new Tianjinxi station can be reached by Metro (Tianjin Metro Line 1, 4, 6; Lines 4 and 6 currently not in service), bus, taxi, even on foot. Tianjin West Railway Station has replaced the main Tianjin station to become the largest transportation hub of the city of Tianjin.
