Wudang Mountain is famous for its perfect combination of natural and cultural scenery. It is also renowned for its magnificent ancient buildings, profound traditional Taoist culture and Wudang kungfu.
Wudang mountain range is located in the northwestern corner of the Hubei province, just to the south of the city of Shiyan. It is more than 400 kilometers away from Wuhan City.
How to get to Mount Wudang from Wuhan by bus? There are buses leaving for Mount Wudang every day from bus station in Wuhan City, like Hankou Jinjiadun Bus Station (Main Passenger Terminal in Wuhan), Hankou Xinhua Road Bus Station, Hongji Bus Station and Fujiapo Bus Station. You would better check the departure time of the bus in advance and bus a ticket. It takes about 6 hours from Wuhan to Wudang Mountain by bus.
Alternatively, you can take a bus at the above bus station to get to Shiyan City first. Then regional bus that services Mount Wudang originates in the city of Shiyan. It takes about 6 hours at least to get to Shiyan from Wudang and then takes 45 minutes more from Shiyan to Wudang Mountain Scenic Area.
How to get to Mount Wudang from Wuhan by air? You should take flight to Shiyan first. There are two flight from Wuhan to Shiyan every day at 8:20 am and 8:45 pm. It only take 60-70 minutes for one way. Then you may take train from Shiyan Railway Station to Wudangshan Railway Station. It is may the fastest way to get to Wudangshan Scenic area.

How to get to Mount Wudang from Wuhan by train? The train passes by the foot of Mount Wudang, where Wudangshan Railway Station is located. There are 5 trains departing from Wuchang Train Station to Wudangshan Railway Station. The time takes about 5h36m - 6h42m, depending on different trains.
You can also get to the mountain via the train from Shiyan city, whose facilities and services, it is said, are better than ordinary regional trains throughout China. You can take D-trains (bullet trains) from Wuhan to reach Shiyan City first, which takes about 4 hours, then transfer to the Wudang mountain there either by train or bus. It is only take 20 minutes from Shiyan Railway Station to Wudangshan Railway Station.
The Wudangshan train station is a bit out of town and from there to the gate of the national park is a 20 minute bus/car ride. There are supposed to be green shuttle busses running between the train station and the main gate. If you don't see a bus in front of the station you can try to flag down one of the local buses towards right when you get out of the train station. Furthermore, there will be people with small minibuses standing in front of the train station willing to give you a ride to Wudangshan town and maybe even to the main gate. However, you would better bargain for the price, because the driver usually charges higher from foreign visitors.
