Gulangyu Island Ferry Schedule

There are five main wharfs you need to know getting to Gulangyu Island. As the map above shows, Sanqiutian Wharf and Neicuo'ao Wharf are the two piers on Gulangyu Island locating in the east side and west side of the island respectively. The rest three wharfs are not on the Gulangyu Island, Xiamen International Cruise Terminal or call it Dongdu Youlun Matou as the locals do and Lundu Ferry Terminal are on Xiamen Island east to Gulangyu while Songyu Wharf on the other hand is west to Gulangyu on mainland.

For tourists Need to Get to Gulangyu Island in Day Time There are Three Options

1.Xiamen International Cruise Terminal (Dongdu Youlun Matou) to Sanqiutian Wharf

Xiamen International Cruise Terminal, 厦门国际游轮中心Xiàmén Guójì Yóulún Zhōngxīn. Locals call it Xiagu Matou 'Xiamen Drum Pier' (厦鼓码头), or Dongdu Matou 'East Ferry Pier' (东渡码头,).
Sanqiutian wharf, 三丘田码头，san qiu tian ma tou.

Attentions: This is a special line for tourists. You are supposed to get on at the departure station because they will not take any passages during the journey. Of course you can get off at any station in between if you wish, but the fare will be still ten yuan.

For Tourists Going to Gulangyu Island in Evening

1.Lundu Ferry Terminal to Sanqiutian Wharf

Attentions: Lundu ferry terminal, 轮渡码头 lun du ma tou, is south down to Dongdu wharf facing Sanqiutian wharf across Lu River in between. Passengers should depart at the No.2 hall of Lundu Ferry Terminal in evening. The frequency of both wharfs mentioned above will be changed to 30 minutes after 21:00 every evening due to fewer customers.

Night Cruise to Gulangyu Ialand

Attentions: Passengers shall depart at the Hall No.2 to take night cruise at Lundu Ferry Terminal
Note:
1. Passports are required when buying the tickets and embarking on the ship.
2. Passengers with roundtrip tickets should leave Gulangyu within 20 days using the returning ticket.
3. Children under 1.2m (3.9ft) can get a free ticket by showing passport at the ticket window. Children between 1.2m and 1.5m (4.5ft) can enjoy half price ticket.
4. Avoiding Chinese New Year Rush, during national holiday, May holiday and spring holiday, all the terminal will be crowded and long queues are expected.
5. No Ferries to Kinmen Island! Travelers who want to go to Kinmen have to board at Xiamen Wutong Port (厦门五通码头).

Getting Around Gulangyu Island

By foot.
By electric golf carts.
Though cars and motor bikes are not allowed on Gulangyu Island, there are electric golf carts carry visitors in a circuit around the island's coast line. The whole trip will cost 50 yuan and the whole journey is about 6 km. Below is the schedule of the carts for you reference.
