Xian - Chengdu Trains
Xian and Chengdu are two hot destinations for tourists from both domestic and abroad. The two historical cities are always chosen by tourists as must-go places in for their China tours. The transportation between the two cities becomes more and more convenient now. Visitors can choose to travel the two cities either by trains or flights. Trains from Xian to Chengdu
There are about 10 trains traveling between Xian and Chengdu. And the trains runs between Xian Railway Station and Chengdu Railway Station. The fastest train from Xian to Chengdu is T7 which runs for about 13 hours and 32minutes. And the lowest train is 1485 runs for 17 hours and 4 minutes.
For it travels for such a long time between the two cities, it is recommended to take a over-night trains (like K388, K879 and K869) and buy sleeper berths on trains, so that you can have a good rest on the train at night and save more time to have tour in the day.
Train from Chengdu to Xian
Trains from Chengdu to Xian depart from Chengdu Railway Station and arrive at Xian Railway Station. There are T-type train (the fasteat ones) and K-type train traveling between the two cities. The fastest one (T8) runs for 12 hours and 39 minutes, which the lowest one (K880) runs for 16 hours and 50 minutes. Most of the trains are overnight ones.
It is recommended to take a over-night train, so that one can have a good rest on the train at night and save time for sightseeing in the day. Trains like K386, 1486 and K292 are good ones to take. Also, you can choose one that meets your travel schedule.

Notes for Booking Train Tickets
1. Booking an original train is easier than booking a passing-by train. You can book a train ticket 10 days in advance at most. We suggeat you to book train ticket in advance, for the train tickets are sold out quite soon. And during summer holiday, national holidays in China, trains tickets are hard to buy for it is too hot. There are four ways for visitors to buy train ticket: at the Railway Station, by online ticket booking system, by Telephone and booking through travel agencies. 2. Generally, the seats on the train in China have tow types including soft seat and hard seat. Also, there are two kinds of sleeper seats on China's trains which are hard sleeper seat and soft sleeper seat. Hard sleeper seats are divided into upper hard sleeper, middle hard sleeper and lower hard sleeper (lower hard sleeper is the best); while soft sleeper seats are divided into upper soft sleeper and lower soft sleeper (lower soft sleeper is better).
3. In China, taking a train is a comparative cheaper way to cut down the travel cost. While correspondingly, the comfortable level is lower than by air.

Tips for Traveling to Xian and Chengdu
► Best Time to Visit Xian:
The best time to visit Xi'an will be during months June, July, August and September, when the average temperatures are at a comfortable level. Other great months to visit Xi'an are April, May and October when the average temperatures are a little cooler. If you don't mind bringing a coat, during January, February, March, November and December is also good time to go, but average temperatures is a lottle cold in those months.. ► Best Time to Visit Chengdu:
Best time to visit Chengdu in Sichuan Province will be from March to June and from September to November. Spring in Chengdu (March - May) is a season revered from the cold days. Shortly warming time is comfortable for plants growth. Early summer is a best time to visit since the days are cool and comfortable for most people. Autumn months including September, October, and November is a cool season with comparative fewer rainy days. Chengdu's winter is not extremely cold with few snow days. ► Try to Avoid domestic travel seasons
The most crowded seasons in China are Chinese Spring Festival (usually in late Jan or early Feb.), International Labour Day (May 01 to 03) and National Day (Oct 01-07). Spring Festival and the National Day golden week are the most crowded time for travelling.
