This route is long and you may need more than 6 hours to get to the top of the Tai Mountain. And it is the most classic route in Tai Mountain to see most attractions at Tai Mountain. If you want to challenge yourself, you can choose hiking to get to the top of Tai Mountain. And if you want to save energy and time, you can choose cable car to get to the South Gate to Heaven. Then hike a relaxing route to get to the top of Tai Mountain.
 

Relaxing Route: South Gate to Heaven-Jade Emperor Peak

It takes about 30 minutes to get to Jade Emperor Peak from South Gate to Heaven.

Travel Tips for Tai Mountain Hiking

A trekking pole(alpenstock) is helpful while hiking at Tai Mountain because there are many many stairs at Tai Mountain.

Taking foods and water yourself is convenient, and light package is better.

The temperature at the top of Tai Mountain is lower than the foot of Tai Mountain. Take temperature into consideration while hiking and clothing.

You can check the weather at Tai Mountain in advance if you want to get clear view of the scenery of Tai Mountain and its surrounding landscapes.

 

Hua Mountain

Located in Huayin, Shaanxi Province, Hua Mountain(Chinese: Huashan) is the most precipitous mountain in China. It is 120 kilometers from Xi’an. It is also one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. There are some famous Taoist temples at Hua Mountain. There are also some dangerous roads at Hua Mountain. At the main peaks of Hua Mountain, you can enjoy the stunning view of sunrise or sunset.

Recommended Route at Hua Mountain

Route 1: West Peak-South Peak-East Peak-North Peak
 

This route is a classic hiking route at Hua Mountain. This route takes about 6 hours to hike the main peaks of Hua Mountain. To reach West Peak of Hua Mountain, you should take the bus and cable car up to the West Peak. And at the North Peak, you should take the cable car and the bus to get down. At this route, you need to walk on the frightening plank road built on wooden brackets fixed into cliffs from South Peak to East Peak. If you like challenging and adventure, you can try to walk across the plank road.
 

Route 2: Yuquan Temple-North Peak-Halfway Peak-West Peak
 

This route takes about 7 hours to hike at Hua Mountain. At this route, you do not need to walk on the frightening plank road built on wooden brackets fixed into cliffs from South Peak to East Peak. And if you are afraid of heights, it is not suggested to try to cross the plank road built on wooden brackets fixed into cliffs.

 

Wugong Mountain

Wugong Mountain is located in the midwest of Jiangxi Province. Tai Mountain is magnificent, Hua Mountain is precipitous, and Wugong Mountain is picturesque. Ever since Tang and Song Dynasty, Wugong Mountain was preferred by Daoism and Buddhism, and literary men had been to Wugong Mountain, enjoyed the wonderful scenery and written poems and other literary works. There are many domestic and foreign tourists coming to Wugong mountain to see the lush alpine meadows, breathtaking sea of clouds, impressive sunrise and sunset.

Recommended Hiking Route at Wugong Mountain

Classic Route: Shigu Temple-Monkey Valley-Golden Top-Diaomazhuang-Hero Stop-Ziji Palace(Zhongan)

This route is complete and you can see most of the highlights of Wugong Mountain. Wogong Mountain is the best place for photography lovers with lush grasslands, sea of clouds, stunning sunrise and sunset. From May to August, Wugong Mountain is a wonderland. This route takes about 8 hours to get to the Ziji Palace from Shigu Temple.


 

Mount Emei

Located in Leshan, Sichuan Peovince, Mount Emei is one of the most famous mountains in China. At Mount Emei, you can experience the Buddhism, Daoism and tea culture. It is listed in the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The Golden Top at Mount Emei is magnificent during the sunrise together with the sea of clouds, which are impressive and breathtaking. Recommended Hiking Route at Mount Emei

Relaxing Route: Leidongping-Jieyin Palace-Shuzhuangtai-Taiziping-Golden Top
 

It is a relaxing route at Mount Emei, by which you can see the highlights of Mount Emei. At this route, you can visit the Huacang Temple and the Golden Buddha, the highest golden Buddha in the world. Standing on the Golden Top, sometimes you can see the Chengdu Plateau and Minya Konka Snow Mountain. This route takes about 3 hours to get to the Golden Top from Leidongping. And this section is a bit steep. If you do not want to spend more than 14 hours to hike for the whole route, you can choose this hiking route with the highlights of Mount Emei.
 

Complete Route:

Day 1: Baoguo Temple-Fuhu Temple-Leiyin Temple-Guangfu Temple-Jiulao Cave-Dufeng Temple-Yuxian Temple-Jiugangling-Xixiang Pool-Leidongping
 

Day 2: Leidongping-Jieyin Palace-Shuzhuangtai-Taiziping-Golden Top
 

This route is a complete route including most of the attractions at Mount Emei. Generally speaking, you should spend more than 14 hours to finish all this route. And it is not recommended that you finish this hiking route in a day because you need time to relax after hiking for a long time. You can fully experience the scenery and religious culture of Mount Emei at this route with the temples and other attractions. And please note that the hiking footpath at Mount Emei will be closed because of weather. Please check with the scenic area in advance to avoid the situation of closing of hiking footpath.
 

Travel Tips at Mount Emei

  • Take good care of your belongings if you meet the monkeys on Mount Emei, who may catch your belongings.
  • Do not feed the monkeys.
  • The top of the Mount Emei is not very cold in summer, coat is enough.
  • Bring your power bank while hiking at Mount Emei.
