Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral

Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral is the most magnificent and characteristic cathedral for Catholic in Guangzhou. The building was designed by designers from French and China. The church started to built in 1863 and completed in 1888, taking 25 years. So it has a history of more than 130 years. It is 35 meters wide and 78.69 meters long. And it is 58.5 meters high from the ground to the top. All the walls and pillars of the church were made by granite stone. It is in Gothic Style.
Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall

Guangzhou Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall looks solemn and magnificent. It is one of the landmark buildings in this city with strong ethnic characteristics. A majority of large gatherings and performance were held in this palce, so it witnessed many historical events of Guangzhou.
It was built in memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the money was raised by Guangzhou people and overseas Chinese. It started to build in January 1929 and was completed in November 1931. In 1956, a bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen with a height of 5 meters starts to stand in front of the memorial hall. In 1963, it was redecorated in large scale. The roofs were change to blue glazed tile. This more than 60000 square meters of park was protected by iron fence. And many trees and flowers were planted around it. Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is an octagonal building. Designers clever apply the structure principle of construction mechanics, using steel and reinforced concrete composite structures.
