Immerse in Shanxi Pingyao Ancient City

Shanxi is known as the museum of Chinese ancient buildings. Its Jin-Merchant buildings reflects the essence of Chinese traditional local-style dwelling houses. The Pingyao Ancient City, built in the Western Zhou Dynasty, has 2700 years of history. The existing city has more than 3000 buildings, which are stores, dwelling houses, exquisite and chic small courtyard, etc...

Shanxi Pingyao Ancient City is one of the China's existing four best-preserved ancient cities. Its rich merchant culture breath, deep curtilage, city building and sunset, gongs and drums, simple folkway and savory food make people leisurely and comfortable.

Everything during the daytime in this ancient city is wonderful. Though this ancient city is quite big, you can use most of the day to walk through the whole city. I chose to stay here for a few days to enjoy deeper travel experience. The four main roads make the large and small sight spots very clear. Along the road, there are numerous stores selling tasty Pingyao beef or hand glassing lacquer specialty.

The night Pingyao Ancient City has its unique flavor. With the red lanterns, this ancient city seems to be very extremely lively. Walking in the street, I strolled in my favorite characteristic shops and ate my favorite flavor snacks. Due to the ancient city, the night, the moonlight and neon lamp, I preferred to let my steps to slow down, to have an intimate contact with the true world. The night old street withdrew its noise and excitement of the daytime, but to become quiet and peaceful. Walking on this old street quietly, sometimes I stopped to enjoy the beautiful moonlight, just immerse in the thick night in this ancient city.

Standing on the north tower to look around, the whole city is quiet and peaceful. Looking far away, the ancient city wall is like a strong and vigorous dragon, full of all kinds of vigour. The open field of vision will make you suddenly become extensive.







The whole ancient city gives a piece of yellow grey tone. Wwe can't see the blue sky of Jiangnan, but we also feel the tone is very gentle. All kinds of folk houses form the most of Pingyao Ancient City.
