With the popularity of China travel, more and more foreign visitors have seen an open and diverse China.
Currently, China has executed mutual visa free agreements with 25 foreign countries including Fiji, Thailand, Singapore, Maldives, Kazakhstan, Antigua and Barbuda, Albania, United Arab Emirates, Barbados, Bahamas, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dominica, Ecuador, Grenada, Qatar, Mauritius, Serbia, Seychelles, San Marino, Suriname, Tonga, Armenia, Georgia and Solomon Islands(effective after both countries have completed relevant domestic legal procedures). Passport holders from these 25 countries can enter China for visa-free and stay in China for less than 30 days.

China is also implementing a unilateral visa-free policy for 38 foreign countries. Passport holders from these 38 countries can enter China without a need to apply for a visa for the purposes of business, tourism, family visits, exchanges and visits and transit, with stays of no more than 30 days.
In order to further facilitate personnel exchanges between China and other countries, China has decided to expand its visa-free arrangement to include more countries. From November 30, 2024 to December 31, 2025, ordinary passport holders from the 38 countries(Brunei, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, Malaysia, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan) can enter China without a need to apply for a visa for the purposes of business, tourism, family visits, exchanges and visits and transit, with stays of no more than 30 days.

How to calculate the duration of stay of 30 days?
Foreign nationals eligible for a visa waiver may stay in China continuously without a visa from the date of entry to the 30th calendar day until 24:00.
Please note that foreign nationals planning to stay in China for over 30 days shall apply for visas corresponding to their purposes of stay in advance at Chinese embassies or consulates. If you have to stay longer than 30 days for appropriate and sufficient reasons after entering China without a visa, you shall apply for stay permits to the exit and entry administrations of public security authorities of China.
Foreign nationals eligible for the visa waiver can enter China without a visa for multiple times. Currently there is no restriction on the number of entries or total days of stay, but those who enjoy visa-free travel to China shall not engage in activities inconsistent with their purposes of entry.
Currently, 41 exit-entry ports in 19 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government of China have implemented the 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreign nationals from 54 countries.
Foreign nationals from these countries holding valid international travel documents and connecting tickets with information on confirmed dates and seats for transit via China to third countries or regions within specified time frames can apply for visa-free transits at the exit-entry border inspection authorities of the ports in the cities where the visa-free transit policies are in effect. The exit-entry border inspection authorities will then process their applications and grant temporary entry to the eligible foreign nationals. The duration of stay for each foreign national starts from 0:00 on the day following the day of entry.

China has implemented a 24-hour visa-free transit policy for foreign nationals from all other countries around the world at all its accessible exit-entry ports.
Foreign nationals holding valid international travel documents and connecting tickets with confirmed seats, who intend to transit via China by international flights, ships, or trains to third countries or regions, are exempt from visa applications, provided that their stay periods in China will not exceed 24 hours and that they will remain within the corresponding ports. Those who plan to leave the ports must apply for temporary entry permits at the exit-entry border inspection authorities of the corresponding ports.
According to current mutual visa free agreements, unilateral visa free policy and Hainan 59 Country Visa Free Entry Policy, citizens from 77 countries can enter Hainan without visa.
Citizens of the 59 Visa Free eligible countries holding ordinary passports may enter Hainan Province for commercial activities and trade, visit and exchange, and family reunions, receiving medical treatment, attending exhibitions, taking part in sporting events and other needs(excluding long-term working and studying) for up to 30 days without a visa.

Foreign citizens who have arrived in Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and have established diplomatic relations with China can take ordinary passports to join tour groups organized by travel agencies legally registered in Hong Kong and Macao, and stay for 144 hours in 9 cities in Guangdong Province, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing and Huizhou, and Shantou.The 144-hour visa-free policy for foreigners from Hong Kong and Macao to enter Guangdong is a kind of regional visa-free policy. Foreign tourists must travel in and out of the group from Hong Kong and Macao, and can only travel in a specific area of Guangdong Province.
Foreign tour groups(two or more persons) who take a cruise and are hosted by domestic travel agencies can enter the country without visa from cruise ports in 13 cities, including Tianjin, Dalian(Liaoning), Shanghai, Lianyungang(Jiangsu), Wenzhou and Zhoushan, Xiamen(Fujian), Qingdao, Guangzhou and Shenzhen(Guangdong), Beihai(Guangxi), Haikou and Sanya(Hainan), and stay for no more than 15 days. The tour group must take the cruise to the next port until the cruise leaves China. The scope of activities is coastal provinces and Beijing.
To be eligible for the 6-day visa-free entry policy of Guilin, tour groups with ordinary passport holders from 10 ASEAN countries(Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines) should enter and leave Guilin from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport. Two or more people from 10 ASEAN countries should be organized or received by travel agencies registered in China. All members of the tour group should enter and Guilin Liangjiang International Airport for visa-free together. The visa-free activities should be in the administrative area of Guilin no more than 6 days, counting from the day after entry.
