Hi Estar,

Greeting from Peggy, Top China Travel.

I'm glad to help you to know more about China train information here. And I will answer it one by one.

1) Would like to know how do I know which train no. is D or G trains?
It is easy to know. See the train No. when you book the ticket. If the No. begin with letter "D" such as "D23", it will be a D train. And the same, "G23" is a G train.
Check about how to read train ticket on this page /customer-center/how-to-read-chinese-train-ticket.htm

2) There are 3 categories of train fares in website and they are Seat Fares, Hard Sleeper and Soft sleeper. May I know what is the difference?
Seat fare means a ticket for a seat on the train, if you buy this kind of ticket, you only have a seat in your transporting period.

Hard sleeper means a ticket for a hard berth one the train. Six berths in each compartment, two uppers, two middles and two lowers. No secured door for each compartment, so it may be noisy and not private room for you to have a sleep.

Soft sleeper means a ticket for a soft berth on the train. Four berths in a compartment, two uppers and two lowers. The soft sleeper can be a good choice if you have overnight train or a long-distance train.
You can check about the types of China train seats page /customer-center/types-of-china-train-tickets.htm
