I

We are coming to Beijing in September. My wife is partially disabled. She can manage 2-3 dozen steps but can only walk about 400-500 yards. Where would be the best place to visit the Wall? I am 70 and can push her in her wheelchair a long way on the level and on a slight incline but not a steep one nor an unmade path.

Dear Ian Hooker,

Thanks for contacting Top China Travel

If you have difficulty moving around due to your physical disability or have visual or hearing problems, you still can have a sound and exciting travel experience with careful planning, sound arrangements and detailed preparation. Both Badaling Great Wall and Mutianyu Great Wall are wheelchair-friendly. Special flat lanes are built for wheelchair users to get to the certain area of the Great Wall. But it is more recommended to visit Badaling instead of Mutianyu, as Badaling offer more no-barrier facilities. Please kindly find some more details at Access to Great Wall for Seniors or Disabled in a Wheelchair

But as there are many steps on the wall, your wife can not get to the top of the wall. She can only get to the lower floor on the wall by elevator or cable car, then see the wall from there.
