Dear Karee,

Thanks for contacting Top China Travel

Since the first people sucessfully climb to the summit of Mount Everest, there are more and more mountaineers come and try to scale Mount Everest. Among these brave climbers, there are old people still striving for their dream to scale Everest.

According to the records, Min Bahadur Sherchan is the oldest man to climb Mount Everest at his age of 76. He reached to summit of Mount Everest on May 25, 2008, just 25 days before his 77th birthday. The previous record holder of oldest man to climb Mount Everest was Katsusuke Yanagisawa from Japan, who scaled the peak at the age of 71. And there were other old people climbed to the summit like Yuichiro Miura, 75 year old Japanese, climbed to the summit again on May 26 after his first successful attempt in 2003 when he was 70. He became the only one to scale Everest twice after 70 years old so far.

The snow caped Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world. No matter how old you are, there are many physical dangers of climbing Mount Everest that climbers must pay attention to when climbing Mount Everest, such as: avalanches, changeable weather, crevasses, physical  endurance, oxygen deprivation, low temperaute, and slippery ice, and so on. These dangers are something that climbers must be paid attention to.
