Hi, My girlfriend and I are arriving in Datong on 1 April at 7:45am from Beijing by flight. We are departing Datong by train the same day on 1 April at 4:40pm. We were hoping to arrange a taxi to pick us up from the airport, visit the the Wooden Pagoda and the Yungag Grottoes, and drop us back to the train station in time for our train. If there is time, we would also like to see the Nine Dragon screen. How much does it cost to arrange for a taxi for this? Thank you.

Dear Fahad,

Greetings from Sophie, Top China Travel!
Thank you very much for your message left to us as below,

Well noted that you plan to visit Daton on April 01 by arriving at Datong in the early morning and depart from Datong at about 04:40 pm. You would like to visit Yingxian Wooden Pagoda and Datong Yungang Grottoes as well.

Please kindly be advised that it will takes about 1.5-2 hours driving from Datong to Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, depending on the traffic.
Then it takes about around 40-60 minutes to visit the Pagoda, depending your interests. If you are interested in architecture, it might need more time.

It will takes about 1-2 hours for a visit at Yungang Grottoes, based on how many grottoes you will visit and your interests on Buddhism.

As your train departs at 04:40 p.m., the time is too rush. We do not suggest you go to Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. We suggest you visit to Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Temple and Nine Dragons Screen.

You could rent a taxi at the railway station or airport directly on your own. It will be helpful for you to reduce tour cost.
