I am plan to visit Pingyao and Xian from Beijing. I wonder whether I could travel to both places by train or not. What about the train schedule?

Dear Laurence,

Thank you very much for your email.

Please kindly be advised that there are 5 trains from Beijing and have a stop at Pingyao railway station. 2 of them are bullet train and the other 3 trains are slow trains. We do suggest you take bullet train as it is faster and timing is better. Bullet train lasts for about 4 hours, but the slow train lasts for 9-14 hours, depending on different trains.

Beijing-Pingyao Bullet Train Schedule
Train No Departure Station Arrival Station Departure Time Arrival Time
D2001 Beijing West Station Pingyao Ancient City Station 07:58 12:09
D2005 Beijing West Station Pingyao Ancient City Station 15:29 19:39

There are 8 trains passing Pingyao, going to Xian. 4 of them are bullet trains and others are slow trains. It takes less than 3 hours by bullet train, but 8.5 hours by slow train. Therefore, we only offer you bullet trains as below for reference,

Pingyao-Xian Bullet Train Schedule
Train No Departure Station Arrival Station Departure Time Arrival Time
D2531 Pingyao Ancient City Station Xian North Station 10:13 13:06
D2507 Pingyao Ancient City Station Xian North Station 14:10 16:57
D2509 Pingyao Ancient City Station Xian North Station 15:33 18:21
D2515 Pingyao Ancient City Station Xian North Station 19:19 20:16
