Dear Mr. Brian,

Thank you for your attention on Top China Travel.

Firstly, please be advised that there are three railway stations in Shanghai. They are Shanghai Railway Station, Shanghai South Railway Station and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway station. The former two stations are mainly for ordinary trains, such as K-train or T-train. Shanghai Hongqiao Railway station is new station for bullet train and high speed train.

There are many bullet trains and high speed trains from Shanghai to Hangzhou each day, so it is possible to buy train ticket with your passport at station in the morning when you depart for Hangzhou. I do suggest you take high speed train for your Hangzhou tour, as it is faster and more comfortable. The earliest high speed train is at 06:20, and then at 07:00 and 07:30. I suggest you take the train at around 07:30 or 08:00. It takes around 1 hours from Shanghai to Hangzhou.

Secondly, there are 2 railway stations in Hangzhou. One is Hangzhou Railway station and the other is Hangzhou East Railway station. Hangzhou Railway station is in the city center and not far from West Lake. East Railway station is a bit far from the city center. Therefore, when you buy ticket, I suggest you buy the ticket to Hangzhou Railway station. It will be easier for you to do your Hangzhou tour.

Awaiting for your reply at any time.

Best regards
