Hi, Plan to visit China and Tibet in Autumn, perhaps two weeks in Tibet and a month or so in China. It would be a party of two and we are interested in World Heritage Sites and Ancient Architectures but would also be interested to see the ancient part of Beijing, Shanghai, etc. Our port of arrival and departure would be Beijing. We would also like to take the fast train from Beijing to Tibet and back not flight if possible and the start the China tour. I have gone through your inquiry and find that you are interested in visiting Tibet and combination with other tours in China (especially for World Heritage, and Ancient Architectures). I am considering the best way to save the tour cost for you since the tour duration is about a month in China. Regarding the train from Beijing to Lhasa, it takes around 48 hours (2 nights on the train) and I am worried it might be too long for you? According to my experience, the train from Lhasa to other places is the best option, which you can see the Tibet from the window in day time, and it is really wonderful views! (On the opposite, the train from other places to Lhasa, when the train goes in to Tibet, it is in the evening and nothing special to see, expect for sleeping).

In order to save cost for you, we arranged the SIC (group) tour in Lhasa (but need to meet up the fix-departure time of the group tour), it can save a lot and much cheaper than private tour! I will arrange the train from Xian to Lhasa, and train from Lhasa to Shanghai to connect with other tours!
