1) One Day Trip to Stone Forest

Stone Forest is the must-seeing site in Kunming, it takes around 1 day for a visit as it is a little bit far from the downtown of Kunming. It is about 87km from Kunming City. Therefore, it takes around 1.5 hours for driving to Stone Forest. Stone Forest is the first wonder of the world since Ming Dynasty, including large and small stone forest and other scenic spots. It is a typical example of karsts topography, formed about 270 million years ago. It is great area to see the limestone landscapes.

2) One Day Tour to Explore Kunming City

In the morning, suggest you walk around Green Lake Park, where you could see many local seniors singing, dancing, playing instruments, playing cards, playing Mahjong, ect in the park. If it is between November and March, you have chance to see the 
Red-billed Gulls, who come from Siberia to Kunming Yunnan every winter. It becomes an unique view of Kunming.

Then visit Village of Ethnic Culture, which is a site built to represent and exhibit the history, the cultures, the customs and the natural village houses of the 26 nationalities in Yunnan, where tourists could enjoy the precipitous hills, beautiful lakes and the colorful customs, cultures, music, songs, dances, religious and architecture of the ethnic groups of Yunnan Province.


If time is enough, exploring the West Hill at the bank of Dianchi Lake and enjoying the countryside fruit pick-up are also good idea for your to enjoy happy time in Kunming. 

3) Whatelse to do in Kunming

► Visit Qiongzhu Temple or Yuantong Temple if you are beliving in Buddhism or you are interested in Buddhism. 
 
►  Take a leisure day trip to Haigeng Park, which is just at the bank of Dianchi Lake

►  Walk around at local Bird & Flower Market, walking into locals

►  Try the local food, such as Cross Bridge Rice Noodle, Steamed Pot Chicken, local snack, ect

►  Visit Dounan Flower Market, which is the largest flower wholesale Market. You will find it interesting. The flowers at Dounan Flower Market are sold by weight.

Kunming is the capital city of Yunnan Province of China, the gateway city for traveling to Yunnan. There are many things to do in Kunming.
