There are 12 buses from Shanghai South Station to Xitang Bus Station directly. The earliest bus departs at 07:10, the latest bus departs at 17:54, generally 30 minutes to 1 hour a bus. And it takes about an hour to Xitang. You can take Subway Line 1 to Shanghai Long-Distance South Station (near Shanghai South Railway Station). There are quite a lot of buses to Xitang, so it is easy to get a bus ticket. For sure, you can also buy the bus ticket in advance.
